FHP017: Erscheinung - Gecamoufleerd Portaal tape

Erscheinung continues their dark folkloric black metal, now blended with more dark ambient and darkwave. An addictive slab of dark eerie underground dedication.

The brainchild of Kraboztere returns with the third album ‘Gecamoufleerd portaal’. This record fuses the project’s signature eerie and strange folkish black metal and desolate dark soundscapes with synth-driven darkwave. As always, it is created with a myriad of mostly hardware instruments, including an 808 drum machine, an antique mandola, guitar over a vintage amplifier, and various electronic devices from the 1980s and 1990s. Conceptually, the album unfolds as a cosmic journey in which passageways of the soul take center stage, focussing on the Indo-European archetype and folkloric theme of bogs, moors and open water as portals. The result is unusual, catchy and at times ecstatic, marked by hypnotic, repetitive and layered structures.
